HAIR!!

Well....it was time for the braids to come out. OH MY!! Does this child have hair or what? She has beautiful natural highlights. People often tell her that some women pay BIG money for that! Now Lauren can check having her hair braided off her list of things she wants to do.

Happy Birthday Emily!

Where has the time gone? I still remember when she was a baby. I don't know which scares me more, thinking of us being old or Emily driving? We went shopping last night for some birthday goodies. Unfortunately, I was sick still today so we didn't go out to dinner. I kept telling Andy just to take the kids and I will stay home but NO WAY! Anyway, we had our traditional skillet cookie and off to soccer she went. Emily has some fun friends that made her a shirt......on the front it said:

Please....

and on the back it said:

De-pants me!

She is going to have fun at soccer tonight. Thank goodness she wears her sliders to practice. It is all in good fun! Wasn't a very eventful day for her. Oh....I did take her Tropical Smoothie for lunch and brought one for Skittle too! I wish I would have known Sammie was with them because I would have brought her one also but Emily said she would share hers with her! I hope you had a great day Emily!! Andy is always teasing Emily.....3 more years until UofA - University of Alaska!

Emily's Home From New York City

So glad to have her home!! We came home from Vegas on Wednesday early evening and she went over to my parents house about 2 hours later. Off to New York first thing Thursday morning was Emily and my mom!! Big Apple....here they come!! My sister flew in to surprise Emily too!! Way fun!

The first morning they were there I think it was a shock as to how cold it was for Emily. She left 80 degree weather for SNOW!! They went to Chinatown to shop, ice skated at Rockefeller Center, went to the Statue of Liberty, saw ground zero. She kept sending me texts with all the goodies she was seeing......purses, scarfs, jeans!

She had so much fun! What a great 15th birthday she had!! Thanks mom and Mandi for keeping her safe!

Lauren FINALLY Got Her Hair Braided!!

I guess we don't have to go to Mexico now. Lauren has begged us for years, LITERALLY, to take her to Mexico to get her hair braided. We found a spot in Vegas that would do it for $85. YIPPEE....Lauren was excited until the lady started! OUCH!! The look on her face. It took about 45 minutes or so. When Lauren was done, she told me that she will never get it done again. She still wants to go to Mexico but won't get her hair braided! Dang...she looks cute!

Dobson Soccer Tournament Update!

It was another fun weekend with soccer for Emily's team. They were missing a couple of their good players but still determined they won the first game 4-2 (I think). Emily scored on a free kick. Her team played very well despite the few players that were missing. The second game was a lot harder. It was there first loss this year. The team just flat out out played them 0-3. You can't win them all. On Sunday morning it was a must win game to advance to the championship game. They played a team they play a lot and can never seem to dominate. They have beat them each time but only by a goal or two. This game was so good. Emily got the crap beaten out of her. She had to come out of the game with a bloody knee. She ended up with 3 bleeders on her knees. Two on one and one on the other. A very hard fought game. This was also the game that she took a ball straight to the face from about 3 yards away! It wanted to cry on the sideline from seeing how red her face was. We couldn't see initially what happened because the referee was in the way but Holly came down and told us!! The scored ended up being 1-0. Emily had a beautiful cross or shot (not sure which she was going for) and Angela was right on the goal line and tipped it in.

Then for the championship game. It was the BEST game they have played yet. It was against the team they lost to 0-3. Emily made a goal after about 7 minutes of play. The arsenal literally scored on the next play. Tied 1-1. Emily had another free tick outside the 18 again. It bounced over the keepers head and we were up 2-1.....yes....they answered back. It was tied 2-2 going into the half. Gilbert came out and scored and were up 3-2.....the team was playing so good. It was a nail bitter. With about 2 minutes left in the game, Emily had another free kick. She missed it about 2 feet above the goal. It was so sad. She started to cry, she told me that she wanted this game so bad. She wanted to beat them. The team really deserved the win.....great effort. Best game this year by far! Way to go girls, a TERRIFIC team effort! We are so proud of you Emily.

If you look really close at the second picture, Emily (#5) is basically getting close lined by #4 but the referee saw it differently and called the foul on Emily.

Drew Started T-Ball

Oh how I have never laughed so hard! Balls were flying everywhere. Today was Drew's first t-ball practice. Coach Jenny is so awesome. So they showed the boys where the bases were and practiced running.....there Drew went from second to the outfield. I pretended that I didn't know who he was. Not my son! But first, when he hit the ball, he tossed the bat then threw off his batting helmet. Where on earth did he learn that? His daddy needs to work with him! So after practice he said...."Mom...did you see me hit the ball good? It went really far." Oh how it melted my heart. We got home and Drew did a play by play to me, like I wasn't there. When he was practicing third base, he waved at me..."Hi mom!" I think the doctor forgot to cut his umbilical cord, oh that was Andy's job. Now I know the reason, it all makes sense! (Love you honey!)

We have another big soccer weekend coming up for Emily! A few of her teammates will be gone for spring break. GO L-E-G-A-C-Y !!!

Next week we will be taking off for Las Vegas! It is JD's 70th birthday and our family is have a little reunion there to celebrate. Can't wait to see my sister and brother in law and 2 cute nieces! We haven't seen Al is a long time. We will come home Wednesday night and lucky Emily gets to leave for New York City with mom for her birthday!

My New Projects!!

I finished these last night with Laurie (she is so so so awesome and knows how to do everything). I love them. Now I have a bigger reason to do Family Home Evening now....I HAVE A CUTE BOARD!!! They have been sitting on my counter for about 2 weeks to finish. Huge thank you to Laurie for helping me finish them!

Another Busy Soccer Weekend

Well....we are trying to recover from 7 games of soccer this past weekend. Lauren didn't have such a good weekend with her team but Emily's team took 1st place for the 3rd tournament in a row. Emily and her team played very well. The teamwork shows in every game. Emily had 3 goals and 2 assists. So proud of her and her team! It is definitely a team sport.

We had a small scare with Lauren. After the 3rd game on Saturday, we went to Red Robin. She decided to inhale an ENTIRE balloon of helium and pass out on the ground next to the car and have a small seizure. Emily started yelling at me "MOM...MOM...Lauren is turning purple!" I wanted to literally kill Lauren and ask questions later. She was not all there for awhile. We explained to her that people die from doing stupid stuff like that. Lauren is our child that will push everything to the limit. Hopefully she learned her lesson from that and will use her brain next time, the cells that she didn't kill anyway.

Drew...I can't say much about him except he gets drug everywhere. Poor little guy BUT he starts t-ball tomorrow! Oh how excited he is. Easton came to school today...."Drew....we are going to be the Indians!" I don't think Drew has a clue who the Indians are but he wants to play. Thank goodness a friend of ours is the coach and has a TON of patience!

GREAT WEEKEND!

We had a great weekend this past weekend. Emily had a soccer tournament playing 4 games. Her team is so fun to watch. They took 1st place again. GO LEGACY!! Lauren's team was a different outcome. They lost again. This is definitely a rebuilding year. All we can hope is that next year is better! She played great and that is all we ask! Drew was the lucky pick. He got to spend the night at Grandma D and Grandpa John's house. He loves it there. Drew came home with a wound on his head from running into their closet. Poor boy!! This past week we took of Drew's training wheels on his big bike. We weren't sure he would be able to stay on the bike but he did. Zoom....off he went!
