Some friends came up the second night and we had a lot of fun with them. We learned a new card game...Thanks Sherida!! Went quading, kids played on the zip line, ate, ate and ate some more.
The funniest part of the 4 days was the second day the girls, Andy and I were sitting at the picnic table playing games, Drew was riding his bike around and down by the street (we are literally one of 3 groups up there so there was NO traffic) and here comes Drew....the silent cry. I was expecting blood, broken bones or who knows what else. He was screaming....a snake is chasing me. Andy said, are you sure it wasn't a squirrel? Okay....Drew may only be 6 but he knows the difference between a snake and a squirrel. No dad....it was black and long and was chasing me. At this point he was bawling, crying, trying to catch his breath. So we all got up and walked down by where he was at and there was his bike laying down. We tried looking for it and low and behold there it was.......just thinking about it makes my skin crawl! I am NOT a snake girl in any way shape or form! I told Andy...scope and fling. Scoop it up on the shovel and fling it way far across the street. He wanted to cut it's head off. I am thinking that would have been better but at the time I felt some compassion for it. Drew said mom....I think it tried to crawl up my pants. He was still crying out of being terrified. I said to him "Son, you would have gotten to us quicker on your bike then running!" No mommy....it was chasing me!
Here they are trying to figure out what to do with it: SCOOP and FLING!We never saw the snake again!!
Thank you Pierson's and the Kemp's for making our last trip up north for the year a great one!! We had a great time.
