Where did June go?

I can't believe June is almost gone. Where has it gone? The girls were gone for 2 weeks, Drew is in school until noon Monday-Thursday.....I still don't feel like I got a lot done. We did redo the floors in the 2 upstairs bathrooms, redid the girls' bathroom, painted the upstairs, put up new trim upstairs. I guess that is something but I wanted to do somethings for me......re-organize my office, work on my preschool for next year. But our upstairs looks great! I guess July means we are going to finish our stairs. It will be so awesome when it is done.

We also bought a pop up trailer/camper. I wanted the organization it has but I am a tent camper. Andy is all for it! It is a well loved camper but our family is excited to make memories with it. We can't wait to take it out in a few weeks.

Laurie's YUMMY Tortilla Soup

OMGosh......I just love it! Laurie kept telling me that she has a great recipe because I am trying to cook different things. Well.....I don't do tomatoes OR green chilies OR beans or maybe I should say I didn't do them. Thank you Laurie for finding me new foods that are so good! Here is the recipe:

2 cans chicken breast (large ones) OR 2-3 chicken breast shredded
1 can pinto beans
1 can diced tomatoes w/ green chilies
2 cans chicken broth
2 cans corn drained
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tbsp chili powder

Cook it all in one pot (another favorite of mine) and serve with tortilla strips. It is so YUMMY! I do have to confess...I revised the recipe a little because 2 cans of beans was just too much for us.

So Much Free Time

The girls made it to Aunt Mandi and Uncle Al's on Monday. Lauren is already asking to stay for the summer but the next minute I get a text on my phone....."I miss you mommy!" She is such a sweetie with a tender heart. I miss them both but don't miss the fighting. It has been pretty quiet around here. I had a lot of things in my mind that I wanted to do while the girls are gone and Drew is in school. WOW....how wrong was I. Nothing done yet! I guess I better get my list up on the fridge.

Drew started summer school on Monday. He seems to really enjoy it. His teacher is Mrs. Davis. What a lucky boy he is.....he gets mom all to himself. We went and got a movie on Monday from Redbox. We have gone swimming everyday. Today we went to the library to get some books to read together. Tomorrow he gets to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house to spend the night. Oh what am I going to do with no kids!
