Mom and Drew Time

How quiet my house is......Emily and Lauren left this morning with mom and JD for Las Vegas. They love it there. Lucky girls! Mom sent me a few pictures of them enjoying their time away. Tonight Emily just HAD to text me...."Mom, watching Bellagio". What a snot! She knows that is my favorite! I can stand there for literally hours watching it all. Drew made the girls a picture today. He misses them and told me that he won't fight with them anymore. Before he went to bed tonight he said..."Mom, are Emily and Lauren coming home tomorrow? You know...the day after today?" We went swimming today and had a lazy day around the house. This morning he even went back to bed. After searching the house high and low thinking someone came into the back yard and snatched him he was sleeping in his bed! What a good boy!!!

Our newest addition

This sweet little bird was lost in our backyard. We were doing some yard work and I noticed that Kate was going crazy and chasing something. Once we figured out it was bird we caught it (okay...Andy caught it)and moved it back to the front yard. He was so small and couldn't fly yet....it kept trying though. For the next three days that cute little bird was between the screen and front door. I was so afraid he was going to be stepped on. Emily opened it up the door to go to school one morning, not realizing it was there and in the bird came. Luckily it couldn't fly so Emily got it back outside. We saw it every day for 3 more days and but haven't seen him since! What a cutie!

Drew's Early Learners Program

Oh how cute he was all dressed up in a white shirt and tie. We are so proud of Drew! He has a FABULOUS teacher, Mrs. Humes, this year. He has grown so much and is ready for kindergarten. His musical was so cute. They sang Baby Beluga with the fun motions. Grandma even came to watch him too! Drew is so excited to get to go to "Lauren's school" next year. Kindergarten here we come!

Our Camping Trip

What a time we had......it rained and rained and rained some more. Oh were we in for a wet long weekend! On Thursday after the kids had their last day of school we headed up north for the long memorial day weekend. On the way up it started to rain. Little did we know that would be the story of the weekend. It rained most of Thursday but luckily we had a few canopies to keep our tables and food dry and a tarp to go over the tent. It was probably about midnight on Thursday and all of a sudden a downpour came. Andy and I both woke up and looked at each other. If it wasn't in the middle of the night we probably would have started laughing. What on earth were we doing!! Friday was so crazy, it was nice, then rain, then drizzling, then sunny. UGH!!! We made the most of it and played soccer, rode our bikes when the sun was out. Every time the rangers would come up on their golf carts Drew would hop on his bike to go greet them. Oh that was a life saver for Drew. He had such a good time riding his bike. Luckily we got our favorite campsite and there is nobody around us so we have the road basically to ourselves. Drew was so sweet and picked us some flowers for our centerpieces. He was so proud of them. Finally,....Saturday....it was so nice all day. There was no rain in the forecast. WHEW.....we decided to have an early dinner....then it came. DOWN POURING RAIN! Andy and I just looked at each other and smiled! We made the best of it. Dirty and wet but we had a great family weekend!

Teacher Appreciation Week

I feel for Emily's teachers since they probably don't get much of a thanks from their students so I made these simple candy jars. They are cute and fun but more importantly say thank you for all the time they spend teaching our future. Emily has had a great year and awesome teachers.

Drew's Last T-Ball Game

Well....it is finally over! I have never been so happy that something is over. WOW is all I can say. Now, I know he has to start sometime but this was painful. Here are Drew's rules for playing T-Ball:

* Stand on the bases and tell the runner to get off his base
* Sit on the ground in ready position
* Put his mitt on his head while in the outfield
* Pick up the bases and look under them EVERY TIME and each base too!
* Walk to 1st base because he didn't feel like running
* Put his sunflower seeds on 3rd base and stare the boy down who stepped on them
* Run to the pitchers mound instead of 1st base

As you can see, it was very eventful. At least we are done and have the memories. I told Andy we are NOT doing it again. I think golf is more his speed with his dad or Grandpa.
