Part 3 - North Shore: Kaunala Beach/Turtle Bay

The day before we came it RAINED and RAINED....flash flood warnings, brown run off into the ocean so we wanted to at least go to the water and see what it was like! We went to Kaunala Beach and Turtle Bay. We love love love just sitting by the ocean. It is so relaxing! Not a very good picture but here is the brown run off...they advised everyone to not go in the water

PARADISE

This guy was making coconuts drinks. He cut them in 1/2 and stuck a straw in the coconut so you could drink the coconut milk!

Turtle Bay Resort golf course was beautiful

I have NEVER ever seen a blue stop sign......

There are crabs walking on these rocks from the big waves coming in

Cute girls Erin & Emily

Andy was TRYING to explain to Drew that crabs were in the shells he was gathering

There were TONS of baby crabs and they were crawling everywhere!

My cute Aunt Stacey!

Part 4 - Missionaries & Laie Point

It is such a beautiful drive around the island. We stopped by Ted's Bakery again for lunch (we loved it so much last time) and then headed up to Laie.

The whole was made from a storm that came and crushed thru it! WOW!

The girls found the missionaries at the beach.....they were so sweet they gave them some of the snacks we had packed!

Well.....I think I could stay here (okay...in the dream world I would). It is so relaxing and carefree. I have sat on the porch for 3 hours already enjoying the outside, the kids are doing a puzzle, Andy is watching the Bears. We are headed up to North Shore again today.....30 foot waves are expected. Tomorrow we are heading out to whale watch! Crossing our fingers we see one.

We Made It On.........

Our family has come to LOVE Hawaii. We had no intention on going this weekend but on Monday Andy made the comment about wanting to go to Hawaii again. He isn't going to be able to go in March with the kids and I so I made the comment...well....lets go when the kids have the long weekend (I was thinking in a few weeks). That was in 6 days. So here we are!

It was a little stressful, suppose to rain, Lauren was staying home, 54 non rev's BUT we made it on (not sitting by each other but we were on), Lauren ended up going with her friend to San Diego after her soccer game AND the rain hasn't come yet! This was the first time it has been a little turbulent on a flight here. I did have to take an extra med because we were only 4 hours into our 7 hour flight. Needless to say, I needed some sleep hoping it would get out of my body. We ended up getting in about 45 minutes early. I did sleep most of the way. Wish I could say what the others did but they were in back of me. We are just glad to be here.Aunt Stacey and Erin picked us up (miss you Uncle Paul). We love staying with her. She is so fun to be around, love to hear stories about our family. This weekend should be fun with them.

Hopefully Lauren's team wins and she has an easy flight to San Diego tomorrow.

Lauren & Hangers

Geez....I thought I was being nice by buying more hangers for everyone but I didn't realize black wasn't an option for Lauren. All my hangers in my room are white.....don't know why but I can only have white hangers. Even when we go on vacation and are in a rental house, I will only use matching hangers. I never really thought it but looking back realize that I do it! Just a little OCD maybe???

Here is my conversation with Lauren-
Me: Hey Lauren, there are hangers on the stairs for you...
take them to your room
Lauren: They don't match my room. My room is brown and
the hangers are black
(as she walks right over the hangers)

REALLY? Is it that big of a deal? I guess so because I won't use them either!

Love My Preschoolers!

I have one that is always telling me how much she loves me and loves giving hugs. Today during circle time, she came and gave me a great big hug...next thing you know they all one by one came up and gave me a squeeze! Oh so sweet! They are all so sweet and tender. Wouldn't trade any of them!

We happen to be talking about the weather and snow. One little boy said....I love to eat snow but yellow snow doesn't taste very good. I am hoping he isn't speaking from experience but it sounds like he might be! YIKES!

I Can Do It!

I am not a baker by any means BUT I got out my bread maker and decided to give it a try again. WOW! The kids are BEGGING me to make more. I have to admit I was shocked because NOTHING to do with bread ever turns out right for me! The honey wheat bread is so yummy!! We have had fresh warm bread almost every day this week!
This loaf doesn't look as good in the picture as it does in person...hmmm......I think I smell the banana bread....better run!
